The Textile Testing Laboratory performs a wide range of physical and chemical tests in fibers, yarn, woven and knitted fabric, finished products and nonwoven, working with the whole productive chain. The methodologies applied in analyses or tests follow specific technical norms, like: ABNT, AATCC, ASTM, DIN, ISO, JIS and AFNOR. It is also possible to ask for special services, which involves a previous contact in order to verify their feasibility.
Fiber: composition; oil extraction; number of crimps; and length.
Yarn: title; twist per meter; tensile strength; elongation percentage; colorfastness to light; and number of filaments.
Woven and knitted fabric, finished products and nonwoven: colorfastness to light, crocking (Rubbing), washing, and bleaching; dimensional stability; color defects analyses; strength, abrasion and pilling resistance; air and water permeability; and flammability.
For testing or analysis, the methodology follows many different technical norms like: ABNT, AATCC, ASTM, DIN, ISO, JIS e AFNOR.
It is also possible to ask for many different special works, and in this case it is necessary to previously contact the Institute, in order to be verified the possibility of its execution. Some of these special works are:
– Quality control of imported products, products for exportation and commercialization;
– Fabric design;
– Special chemical and physical analysis;
– Applied research and development in the textile area.
